🙋🏻♀️Robbie, another great learning experience today. But I’ve been binge watching your older videos and wanted to comment on your Oct 30,2019, GARDENING FOR HEALTH ACTUALLY WORKS. Every thing you and Gary have done has been my mantra all my life. A WWII baby I grew up with real food, no plastics, shelf life stable, chemical preservatives and processed products pretending to be food. and have always tried to provide my own clean food cooked by me. I can testify that IT REALLY DOES WORK!!! Rarely have I ever been ill all my years. And as you’re aware gluten and sugar can be one’s downfall, along with “fast food” which isn’t food.
I hear your angst that others don’t understand and sympathize with your loss of friends and family when they might still be here had they changed to a healthier lifestyle as you did.
So now I’m unable to garden traditionally, I am adopting your compost in place proven method to still eat for my health despite battles with GERD from gluten, and aches from too much sugar as they’re both in everything today, even though I still maintain myself and do my best to avoid them.
Keep up your intelligent SUGGESTIONS so I and your viewers can continue to learn to produce healthy food. And one important factor you haven’t mentioned is all the physical exercise you both get by growing and eating what you grow. Just look at Gary now Mr 💪 😂, and NO CANES!!! ❤
I got 4 packs of the jester marigold seeds. I can't wait to start them. Thank you for the zucchini tips. Another great video! Have a great rest of your week..
Enjoyed the video. I am surprised that my lettuce is bolting like yours. And my squash is going crazy.
After most everything dying (while I was in the hospital ) I am surprised I am able to grow anything at all.
Thanks for all the information. I build my own soil as well, thanks to you 😊.
How do you get your tree collards to grow so fast? I planted my from seeds and they are still kind if small. Catapillars attacked them. I managed to get rid of them for now.
I enjoy watching you, Gary and the pup.
If possible I'd like to know more about propagating, if you have time.
And I still want to know what Gary does with all those wood chips? Lol.
Thank you for what you do, it's always fun!
And I filter all my water with a WaterDrop that removes fluoride and other junk. MA in SD🎉
❤❤❤❤❤
I planted my basil and it just looks weepy. I don’t know what is wrong. Basil just doesn’t grow real well for me. I use your suggestions on how to grow but I do use some fertilizers. I need to make some tea.
The whole patio looks so pretty. I did keep some geraniums over winter and bought some clearance from Lowe’s and they are doing great. I’m propagating. I need to learn how to propagate roses. I bought some clearance baby roses and they are doing great now. Wish I’d bought more. lol.
You can use the borage in cocktails! But really it's just a glorious blue plant that the bees love. I grew it last year. It was lovely.
The plastic flowers not only protect your plants from the sun…. But makes it colorful! Thank you for sharing the idea. 💐. Zoe! You’re adorable!
My squash is all male flowers. 🤷🏻♀️
Do you have squirrels that are my squirrels are digging up my plants every morning on my balcony. I don't want to hurt them I don't want to be in humane but I just don't know what to do. it's so frustrating.
Robbie, you're the best! Thank you for all your tips. You always make me feel like, I can grow it too!!!
Does anyone know what the birds feeding on the dish @18:31 are? I'm thinking they are some kind of sparrow, but don't know what kind of sparrow.
❤
I love zucchini and greatly appreciate you showing us how to pollinate using a soft brush. My question is: What is the difference between female and male flowers? How does one decipher the defference? Thank you very much for your information. I love love your deck garden! So diverse, colourful, beautiful, and fascinating.❤❤❤❤
I just love you Robbie,,,,I have been following you for a year,,,,and I have learned sooooo much!!!!! My growing season is a short one here in upstate NY in zone 5b. But Each year I add more and more to my back yard food forest. keep the videos coming…..I love learning your tips and tricks!!!! 🙂
Did I miss it? Did you explain the difference between male and female? I can see the difference when they are open, but you know while they're buds
Are you drilling holes in all of your containers, bowls, cups, buckets, etc?
Remember when you cleared the deck? Looks beautiful. Planting flower seeds today. Did my cherry tomato seeds April 29th 3 popped up. Glad I listened to you about going for cherries rather than the big ones.
Great tip about the strawberries. Thanks! 🍓🍓🌞
Robbie, that is what happened to me last yr. Only one zucchini plant lived. It was a gorgeous plant. Many male and female flowers, never on the same day. After 2 or 3 shriveled unfertilized females I just started picking them that day to eat as a garden snack. Baby zucchini are very good. This year I have 3 plants starting to throw male blooms. I'll likely still pull one now and again to eat right there. They are very good.
29:07 Maybe keeping a gardening journal so you have a backup reminder? That's what I do! 😄
Robbie, you are one of the greatest teachers on YouTube. Absolutely brilliant. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you’ve taught me.
You always teach me something new.
My zucchini produced all male flowers all summer long.
Parris Island Cos lettuce doesn't go bitter in heat. Green cilantro seeds are super yum.
Please, why would the newly arrived green hummingbird have been drinking from the oriole feeder mixture (1cup water to 1/3c sugar) instead of the first nature hummingbird feeder 1c. 💧 to 1/4c sugar? Thank you
❤❤❤❤Great info.
Hello there!
I've learned a lot from you!
Thanks to your tips & tricks! Our garden is a blessing that keeps on giving!
Thanks and God bless you!❤😊
I think this video is outstanding!
I love your garden enthusiasm, it's inspiring.
Best squash pollination video ever. Thank you!
Wow Robbie, I never knew how to do that, you can see I'm not a farming lady
The party comment reminded me of Martha Stewart's early years. Martha Stewart would collect ALL the wine glasses and wine bottles that still had a little wine in them regardless of type and she would put it all in one large container and make homemade vinegar out of it all, she even gifted it back to her rich friends. There are some wild stories about all that. ❤
I believe the term for your soil making is called the lasagna method.
Robbie, what is a volunteer? I never heard that term
I save yogurt and sour cream containers and ractangular containers for growing in, and those smaller round containers that sauces come in for saving seeds in.
Peppers need some shade to 😊
I was gifted some seeds. They’re called 4 o’clock and they make their own seed. They’re real pretty pink purpleish flower and then they pop a seed out and they literally just push it out and they bloom at 4 o’clock, but really they bloom early in the morning over here, Texas
