Any ideas what this fungus is on my junipers? They took a beating this winter and don’t look good.

I usually get couple of those in spring( 3 or 5 on couple junipers out of almost 50 junipers) but usually our summers are very dry and hot so they go away on their own .. junipers don’t like humid wet climate.. if that’s where you live you might consider different type of shrub

They should recover provided this doesn’t happen every year.. in new planting it’s not unusually to get some sickly junipers after first winter

Apple cider rust doesn’t really harm the juniper’s think of them is nature‘s Christmas ornaments, common in early spring after rains

  3. This isn’t cedar-apple rust. Quince rust seems to have similar symptoms to the photos (good photos!) included link with treatment recommendations. Seems like a pretty severe case and might be so because the plants are struggling.

How long ago did the trees get planted? Are they planted on a berm or is the mulch 6″ deep? Reducing mulch may help them get healthier and making sure they are planted properly.
