


Built these last year in an attempt to do lazy composting. Doesn’t really work with the materials I’m trying to use so I’m sifting it. Sift product seems pretty good and the stuff that didn’t break down well I’m wetting and re-piling.
Really could use a good garden shredder but the good ones are damn expensive.
I think the main take away here is that turning is essential unless your materials and moisture is near perfect and you wanna do the whole Johnson su airflow pipe thing.
Meh I could use the exercise anyway.

That looks good. How long this batch is cooking?
If you can’t swing a shredder, try running your mower over the browns (leaves/cardboard) before they go back in. It’s a game changer for surface area.
Thought the broom was a race car! Do you sift any finer than that?
