These saplings are growing in my yard by the dozens. I haven't seen any full sized trees or any that are fruiting/flowering. I've been told they might be persimmons, but there are no persimmons around me, native or invasive. I live in a very rural area.

They are American persimmon, and South Louisiana is well within range for Diospyros virginiana
