I was gifted this clipping by a generous neighbor who has had it in water for what I think was a few weeks. To pot it should I give it some more time for roots to develop (second pic is current progress) then plant directly? Or, should I cut the rooted end off, let dry/ callus, and then plant? Or is there another better option?

This is my first time with a Crown of Thorns clipping. I have only had mature plants of this variety previously. Thank you for any advice!

You should be fine to plant. I usually just clip, callus and plant. But I have planted one with smaller roots than that and had success. Plant in a well draining soil and water once dry.
