I googled what would cause these purple leaves, and it came back with Hawaiian purple or red button Hoya. But I’ve had this mother plant for about 4 years and I have occasionally seen a … purple leaf, but it would be a young /new one and eventually turn green. I have these two pretty vibrant and established leaves deep purple on her bow. Is this a concern? I’ve propagated her much. I’ve included a couple (many others have gone to new homes as gifts.) but not really seeing purple leaves like this in ever and she’s never flowered.

I don’t have anything quite as extreme, I have a freckled carnosa and the last leaf it pushed was a shaped a little different, and had red markings like a tattooed almost floating in the layers. It’s wild, I can’t find any reasonable answer. The leaf grew with the marking from a little thing.. it grew with it. I’m so intrigued with your purple leaves! They are gorgeous in my opinion!
Many Hoyas, including Pubicalyx, put out new growth in colors along the brown/purple/red/pink spectrum. It will turn green as the leaf matures, and is completely normal and healthy.
Royal Hawaiian refers to a hybrid variant of Pubicalyx that has dark purple flowers, but the leaves look like a regular Pubicalyx. If that’s what you had, you’d almost certainly know it.
My splash pubicalyx also puts out purple leaves 🥰 it’s totally normal! Another reason why this is my favourite hoya for foliage, so pretty!
