For context I built this tank to only have species of bugs who can’t climb very well and even if they did get out of the tank they would choose to go back in (my slugs and snails) but a spider I didn’t add had babies and how my lid is they can get out. Is there any way to limit there population or make them not able to escape?

You could just vacuum them up or clean them out. If you’re afraid of them then vacuum is probably safer, just have to be careful with debris.
