Just me and the cucumber plant that people told me would never survive in a 2.5gal pot indoors

Getting lots of cukes from this thing now. We planted a cucumber seed from walmart in 2.5gal of chunky soil mix that was meant for houseplants just to see how it would go.

I asked around and read a lot of threads and the consensus was generally that cucumbers don’t do well in small containers, let alone indoors, and that it was kind of a waste of time.

I have a decent amount of experience growing cannabis in a past life, so I tried my best to approach this plant the way I would when growing cannabis. I only really did hydro/coco back in the day, so I used some of the same strategies here even though this plant is in soil (FF happy frog, orchid bark, perlite, some leca).

I have been feeding her megacrop 1-part at ~2EC every other watering, and watering at least once a day. Now that we’re ending up with tons of cucumbers, I’ve upped the feeding to daily.

It’s hard to see from the photo but some of the leaves are bigger than my head, and the cucumbers are the perfect size (and absolutely tons of them are coming in).

Anyway this has been a fun experiment and I just wanted to show off lol.

That’s awesome! Do you hand pollinate them?
