Can these trees be saved or is it to late? And wil it harm the tree to remove the dead crown?

    UK? Looks like ash dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) to me. Over time the tree will lose more and more of it’s crown and eventually will probably die. Some trees show some resistance. This one… does not seem to. Up to you whether you want to keep it or start anew with another tree. I have many ash trees with crown dieback — I don’t really see too many limbs falling, if that’s what you’re worried about.
