This is year two. I’m in a bigger pot (not big enough) and I want to prevent what I think was blight last year. The morning dew keeps her wet in the morning and there’s a lot of overlapping growth that restricts air flow. What do I do?! Should I remove suckers completely? Trim overlapping branches? Do nothing? Advice welcomed. Help me harvest more this year!

Trim the bottom leaves and branches to create airflow

You do want more airflow than this plant has, that will help with a lot of disease issues so I’d start by just removing a few of the lower leaf branches

Up to you whether or not to remove suckers. If you can support them then there’s really no reason to, but if it becomes unruly (it will eventually in that cage or any cage lol) you might consider cutting them.

That pots too small, and it’s going to get roasted on that deck.

What brand of soil did you use?

While a bigger pot is ideal, I have had pretty decent yields with Sungolds in 5 gallon buckets before I knew any better. If you keep it happy and regularly fed with imo, Espoma Tomato Tone liquid form and occasional Recharge compost tea powder, you can do just fine. Regarding suckers I never ever prune them. So I am kind of in the “do nothing” camp. Plus it will give you a benchmark in the future to know exactly how things play out on their own accord.
