Hello lovely people. My wife and i just started a tiny container garden on our rooftop (7b) and I need just a little advice. Currently we have our radishes coming along and I’m wondering what I should do for them.
They look like they’re unearthing themselves as they grow. They are French breakfasts, so maybe that’s why they look so different to me. Should I just harvest? Do you ever top off the soil?

Ugh how did you do it? I potted mine in potting soil mixed with like 10% perlite and it’s been a month and a half….they’ve grown greens but no radish. Idk what I did wrong

I think harvest within 5 weeks or less regardless of size or else they’ll get woody. You can’t harvest too early except that they’ll be smaller. They’re mild tasting so I like to eat them as-is, or with a little salad dressing.

Love those French breakfasts- I’ve been growing them too! Yours look fabulous (and bigger than mine 😭)- great job! I think for sure ready to harvest if it’s been 4 weeks since planting. I’ve tried topping off and didn’t seem to make much difference. They were so spicy for me- how’s your flavor? I’m thinking of trying watermelon radishes next. If you like them, beets and carrots are a natural next choice if you are looking to branch out. Carrots take foreeeevvveeerrr though
