This monstera has been the same size for 10 years. It barely does anything. I chopped it down and rooted it in water maybe a few years ago and tried to plant it again but I clearly have no idea what I'm doing. I water it when the soil is dry and it gets morning light and is near a window. The roots look good when I occasionally repot it but it literally just does nothing. I have other happy plants and then this guy has just moved to many different houses with me just looking like this. It's like a toxic relationship where he won't grow and I've given up on fixing him but I won't end it

Needs more sun, a chunkier soil, and a bigger pot

Holy shit this plan needs WAY more light. This plant should be gigantic with many fenestrated leaves at 10 years old. I’ve never seen a plant so light starved.

Put it right up against your brightest window. If it was already in your brightest window, you need a good (not temu) grow light.

Lack of light is your number 1 problem here

See how tightly those roots are together? You currently have a plant that is “root bound”. It has outgrown the pot it’s living in and no longer getting enough nutrients to maintain growth. I don’t think the lack of light really is your main issue here.

So you can either start adding nutrients to the tiny pot you have it in, or (highly advised) up grade the size of the pot 1-2 inches bigger than the ones it’s currently using. Also, chunky soil with nutrients every two weeks. You’ll get growth this spring, I promise 👍🏻
