  1. Thanks for posting Jess! Old, new they’re all great!! I love to see the boys helping out and yes to see them grow. It’s amazing to me how much they’ve grown since you’ve been in S. C.

    Blessings!

  2. Thank you for posting this video, it’s encouraging to see the progress 1 month later! Hopefully we will get our tomato plants in the ground in a few days, out here in NM!

  3. My dad did the fish and my dad had a beautiful garden and the best part food . Summer time a table full of veggies my mom made for supper. Enjoy your videos ❤ love from Virginia ♥️

  4. Glad you did post this video. Your voice brings comfort to these crazy last few weeks of school when there is no normal.

  5. Love your garden videos… especially when the boys are helping you! Blessings on your growing season Kiddos! 🙏🙏🙏💕💚🌿

  6. Your month-ago looks a lot like right-now here in SW Michigan! It's so inspiring to see my future unfolding in real time in your video. 🙂

  7. I put a full egg in under my tomatoes every year, ans have found it to be prolific. I love hearing the boys be inquisitive! Have a great day Jess!

  8. I just planted my potatoes yesterday . I’m still three weeks away from planting tomatoes. I picked two first asparagus spears yesterday which I sautéed and added them to my scrambled eggs for breakfast, so good. I’m glad you recovered this lost footage. You boys are growing so fast but are turning into quite the helpers! Be a proud mama! 💕

  9. I find this video to be in the style of Charles Dowding. Maybe you should do more like this intentionally. Pretty cool.

  10. Hi Jess, I'm really grateful that I found your channel! It's helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. Blessing to you and your family – love from Australia ❤

  11. Your boys’ questions are so smart! You are teaching them not only how to grow food, but also to love to learn about the garden!

  12. I'm a brand new gardener, heavily inspired by your videos, and I just wanted to recognize and appreciate the beauty of a months worth of growth in your video. It's stunning to see how much growth the potatoes and tomatoes went through. I have had similar happen in my small garden. Even in just a matter of 4 days, things will suddenly be sprouted much bigger and noticeable. It impresses me so much how gardens work, and I didn't know i'd chase the excitement of growing things but here I am, excited every time I see a change lol. Thanks for always sharing your garden and your knowledge! I also loved your book so much.

  13. I used the crab and lobster shell from Neptunes last year and my tomatoes were beautiful! My husband and I also went to visit Ann from Neptune's at the warehouse last summer and we came home with a 50lb bag of the kelp meal to supplement our goats. She mentioned it can increase birth numbers. Well we had our first set of QUADS in our full size dairy herd! Not typical. We also had several sets of triplets. I think it did the job and the goats LOVE IT!!

  14. I have been binge watching your old videos. Especially at the other house and moving to this house. I loved the pink gate and Gary 😢. And baby Bear!!!

  15. Loved this ❤ You better watch out momma your little boys are growing so fast to little men ❤ Good job raising them to steward the lords land he has lent us to love 🙏

  16. Hey there! Can you please tell us how you treated for Riley poly bugs? I have them in my beds and don’t know how to get rid of them. Thank you!

  17. It is great seeing you delegate tasks to your boys and then watch them follow through. What great helpers they are!!!

Why not plant sweet potatoes later on in the the spaces that didn't get planted with regular potatoes? I have the best luck waiting until it is scorching hot and I plant 5-6 sweet potato pieces with eyes and barely push them below the soil surface using grow bags. Then I throw a coconut coir mesh piece over it ( a modification of a Ruth Stout method) all to cover it and then watered it once in a 15 gallon grow bag with a drip tray that sat on the corner of a cement slab protected from all breezes . Sometimes the temps would reach over 125 degrees. It was protected from all the breezes and never got shade and not very much water, I was astounded it still grew a sea of leaves around it and produced a generous amount of tubers- that after curing lasted from the fall, through the winter and spring. I discovered small snakes and brightly colored lizards also were living there when I emptied the bag out at harvest time and sadly forced them out of their homes.

  18. I’ve done the egg in the hole ever since Jess said it back in 2020. Seems to work for me so I’ll keep it up! Thanks, Jess!! 🍅

  19. I buy a few half gallons of fat free milk to pour around the base of my tomatoes for calcium. I've heard it keeps away blossom end rot. Never dealt with it on the plants I've given it to so maybe ?

  20. I almost always snap a picture of what I plant, because from a day to day basis, you can't see much of growth when you look at them every day. But when you go back and compare pictures to the live plant, it's absolutely glorifying to see the change. Thanks for bringing us along.

  21. I love seeing the boys growing up also. I still remember Ben getting something spilled on him ( I think that was the situation). but he said, Don't worry Mom, I'm a farm boy. So stinking cute. Now look at him!

  22. My moto for this year is live and learn!! I started my seedlings in coco coir and that was a bad thing. They got their first leaves and stopped growing. I added some light fertilizer and have tried everything. Going to up pot them this week and pray for the best.
