Looks like a rosette grass of the Dichanthelium genus, not sure on species but it’s definitely native.

Okay very pleased to see folks saying that it is, in fact, a native and not an invasive grass. There’s SO much since I stopped mowing as frequently in this part of the side yard…guess I’ll let it completely go!

It prefers shade in my 8B NC yard. I dug some clumps and potted them for the cats to chew. This year, I’m experimenting to see how tall it gets.
