We’re fairly new home owners and want to plant a couple trees in the park strip area between the side walk and the road so we called 811 to have them mark under ground utilities, etc and I’m just wondering what this means? Thanks! by VeiledDragon landscaping 2 Comments One_Current6757 6 days ago the yellow paint shows where utility lines are buried underground – gas lines usually get marked in yellow so you know not to dig there The_Poster_Nutbag 6 days ago I wouldn’t. Typically that’s city property and they won’t replace trees planted by homeowners if work is needed for utilities. I would go through public works to see if they’ll plant some extra trees for you instead.
