Started this 4 years ago with a simple idea —

grow tomatoes without dirt on my deck.

This is what it became.

Multiple varieties, ceiling-height plants,

massive yields every season. No soil. No yard needed.

Happy to answer any questions about the build,

the system, or how to get started.

Wool is super easy if you’re data driven and have perfectionist tendencies.

If you’re the “good enough for government work” type, it’s probably not the best option.

It absolutely fucking smashes the growth rate and yield of any other medium if you’re dialed in because it has an *extremely* low matric potential, so the plants have to exert almost zero energy for solution uptake. Water does not adhere to rockwool like it does to coir or peat, so it’s easy for the plant to break the surface tension.
