Everyone loves a trip down Lidl’s middle aisle. Despite going in with the best intentions of just getting in the weekly shop, chances are you’ll walk out with something like an air fryer or an inflatable hot tub alongside your milk and bread.
And with the warmer weather now beginning to roll in, it’s good news that the supermarket giant is just about to bring back its highly popular Garden Event. Even better, it will bring with it an essential piece of furniture at an incredibly low price.
Set to land in stores nationwide from Thursday, May 7, the highly anticipated drop will include the new Livarno Wicker Sun Lounger that looks way more expensive than its £119 price-tag. Perfect for those lazy days in the sun, we can imagine this is going to be popular over the coming weeks.
Perfect for balconies, patios and gardens, this sun lounger boasts that stylish wicker material that is everywhere at the moment. Complete with a rattan effect, the German discounter’s lounger allows you to shop one of the biggest garden décor trends on a budget.
One of the niftiest features is the four-position adjustable backrest. Whether you want to lie down and sunbathe, or lightly recline with a book and a drink, it will allow you to relax in the garden anyway you like.

Compared to similar loungers from alternative retailers, Lidl’s price of less than £120 is one of the cheapest on the market, as Dunelm was offering the Cedar & Sage Vibo Outdoor Lounger for £299. While it is currently out of stock online, it does mark a massive £180 price difference.
In terms of affordability, Argos is another name on the high street that does offer a more affordable alternative, with the Keter Daytona Rattan Effect Sun Lounger, which is also adjustable, coming in at £150, making it still over £30 more expensive than Lidl.
As for Lidl’s upcoming Livarno Sun Lounger, it also comes with comfortable padding and seat cushions for that premium comfort. It’s also said to be “weather-resistant” and “durable”, making it ideal for the often unpredictable weather the UK experiences every year.
It’s said to be easy and quick to assemble, with robust protective caps on the feet ensuring a sturdy build that won’t feel flimsy or wobbly. Also coming complete with a three-year warranty, it will provide that peace of mind if any damages or caused within that time frame.

Also, weighing in at just 14kg, it’s not an overly heavy piece of furniture. This means that it can be moved anywhere around the garden without much of a fuss, making it handy for those who want to find the right position to face the sun.
The sun lounger won’t be the only exciting addition to Lidl’s middle aisle this week. Also included in the Garden Event will be the Livarno Garden Swing that will also be ideal for lounging in the sun during the summer.
Coming in at £79.99, this swing has been crafted from a secure and stable frame, with an adjustable sun canopy that provides essential UV protection on those incredibly warm days. With a light swinging motion, it is also relaxing.
The two-seater swing is another piece of furniture that is said to withstand any weathers, with its seat being crafted from a wipeable material that will be easy to keep clean.
Again, at less than £80, it is one of the more affordable options on the high street. For example, a two-seater garden swing over at The Range, which also comes with an adjustable canopy, comes in at £118.99, making it £39 more expensive than Lidl.
Another piece of garden furniture set to hit the Middle of Lidl will be the Livarno Garden Bench that will be priced at just £49.99 for Lidl Plus members and £59.99 for regular members, alongside a host of other furnishings and accessories.
