The Karst Farming Network group has been selected as one of the 14 community groups to create a postcard garden at this year’s Bloom.
The Celtic Eye Art Group and Karst Farming Network, East Galway and South Roscommon are looking forward to planting their garden, ‘Yellow Meadow Kingdom’, which is inspired by the Yellow Meadow Ant and vital role they play in the Karst landscape. Through their design, they hope to capture the power of community gardening to connect people, create belonging and celebrate the stories that shape local places.
After submitting a strong idea, the group won a place at the annual gardening showcase.
Speaking about their garden, Nicola Bowes and Paula Sharkey from Karst, Roscommon said: “We’re thrilled to have been selected to create our garden at Bloom. It’s been great fun planning it and really thinking about how we want it to look.”
If you want to check out the finished garden, head along to Bord Bia Bloom running from May 28th – June 1st.
