Soil temp is the only thing I can come up with, larger pot would take longer to warm.

People are forgetting that when the main tap root hits any barrier, it will turn and that is a signal for leaves and flowering. So the smaller pots, the leaves will grow faster but can lose moisture faster.

Big pot plant might be putting more into roots where as smaller pots might have their roots stunted.

Since there is only a single plant, this could simply be the seed. Not all seeds germinate and not all grow at the same rate after germination. If you try this again, consider planting multiple seeds to control for the individual seed fallacy.

It’s most likely focusing on rooting since it has more space to fill. Thats my experience with most plants.
