As a first time homeowner living in a much different climate than where I grew up, I’ve somehow managed to completely kill off my lawn in less than 2 years, despite paying for a consistent TruGreen service. I have a heavily sloped, shaded front lawn in Zone 7a, but even the sunny patches are now essentially bare as well.
I am at a loss as to where to start with rehabbing this, and just noticed today how severely some bare sections are eroding. I would ideally like a nice front lawn, but my main concern at this point is erosion mitigation. Completely out of my element here—is getting good grass coverage on this type of steep shady slope realistic, and if so what would be the best way to go about doing so? If this is unrealistic, I am considering expanding the established ivy beds we already have in place.
I have a similarly shady & sloped backyard, but for whatever reason have had more success keeping that alive (last photo).
