Hey so I’m okay-ish with normal propagation of plants I’ve already propped however I was given an extremely leggy bent and sadly neglected dragon tree and was hoping to help it out by propping and chopping. Attached is a picture of the poor thing, can anyone help me out on how to help it?

You can chop that up into probably five or six dragon tree props. Leave about a 9″ on the base so that it can shoot some new heads as well.

For the prop pieces, just remember which side is ‘down’ and keep them in some water. I find an opaque container works best to help the roots develop faster. Keep them near light and move that base plant somewhere where it will get light as well since it won’t be getting any after it’s chopped.

Just be aware that the propping process takes a pretty long time. I’m about 6 weeks in and I didn’t see any progress until about week 4. It’s actually pretty easy and you’ll end up with a bunch of new dragon trees!
