This year, I’m maximizing the amount of food I can grow in the small area in front of the Polycrub. This area, I think, reflects the size space many people have to work with in their backyard. My growing area will be mainly composed of two raised beds, which I’ll introduce in this video.
I’ll cover building them, filling them, using mulch to increase fertility, and then finish by planting one with eight crops: lettuce, garden peas, Welsh onions, spring onions, carrots, Swiss chard, and radishes.
The beds I’m using are these in ‘Mist Green’: https://shop.epicgardening.com/LOVELYGREENS5?q=birdies-large-raised-garden-bed-15-short

lovely video tanya
This is perfect timing! I've just created a small raised bed in my garden and will be watching with enthusiasm and copying some of your ideas. Thanks for creating this video, very much appreciated! π
Can you take the time to teach UK gardeners the difference between soil and compost?? They just use the term compost for any type of "dirt".
Lovely. Is Gardening Nowdays at the expense of Relationships. A raised bed needs more watering and miosture, Why, is so many Woman turning to Gardening Now-Days? Is it a Trend are a LifeStyle Tumbs-Up Marketing? Please Update.Thanks.
Those raised beds are huge. You can really grow a lot in them π±π±π±π
This is, for me, a variation of the square foot garden method. Iβm doing this in combination with fabric grow bags. SFG uses a lot of the philosophy that you describe, with the difference being the size of the beds tend to be designed for better reach. Looks great.
I live in East Mesa, where are you at?
Great video. Thanks for sharing!!

Hi Tanya, I am doing an experimental bed of square foot gardening this year at my allotment to see how much I can grow in a small space. I think it is very much about successional sowing…
