I've recently got this new baby cactus after love at first sight during an IKEA shop, maybe a week ago.

When I picked him up from IKEA last week, the soil was bone dry and he has two friends that didn't make it.

I've watered him once since then, though the soil is still very damp. I fear that there are insufficient conditions for the water to evaporate.

Here are his current conditions:

-Sitting outside, air temp is typically around 20° +/-

-has about 3-4hrs a day of indirect sunlight, maybe 1hr of direct.

Though I see what looks like some new growth at the top.

What should I do? Take him inside? Place under lamp? Leave him there.

I appreciate any advice, thank you!

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.
