Giving a neglected lemon tree some much needed TLC, pulled off this monstrosity

Noticed this thing while pruning today and went WTF. Figured it's probably not best to keep it on the tree so off it came.

We bought a house with a 5m tall lemon tree. We originally were going to get rid of it, but have come around and decided to keep it.

It's got leaf miner damage on it which we've pruned off. There's also an orange that's heavily infested with scale. Got treatments for both and have given them a hearty feed with citrus/fruit fertiliser. Here's hoping they come around.
