All of you said to leave it, yeah! I love the tree but worried about the lean and proximity to the house.
That being said: would you cut the aspen down that’s growing into it. They are touching. Or, can I let them be snuggle buddies.

Would you cut it down?
Trunk is about 15 feet away from the home.

Not me 😄 Would cut the branches back that are touching house though.

Just trim back what you need to and see how that looks first. A little at a time.
Might be fine. If not then tear it out.

I’d prune it back, should be at least two feet away from the house

Trim any smaller branch that’s directly touching but otherwise enjoy

absolutely not. just a minor pruning away from the structure. thats it.

I’ve got 2 like this within 15 ft of the house. Never had any issues. But as others have said, take off some lower branches. Its got a nasty lean and aesthetically, it might not be the prettiest tree that you want to bother with.

I would trim it back from the house, but you’d have to fist fight me to take it down it’s beautiful

it’ll trap humidity against the house. a tree with continuous evergreen foliage down to the soil should never be planted this close

Enjoy the shade and lower utility bills. Maybe trim a few branches. Would not remove.

Love the Bob Ross layered branches. The color compliments the house, too. Very nice.

Only shitty boomers remove trees for no good reason. You can definitely get away with just removing the few branches touching the house. Don’t worry about roots, the shade is doing you a solid plus it looks nice there

Trim the branches if there’s a chance they could mess up your house, otherwise, just leave it. The tree’s gorgeous.

If its questionable, trim what absolutely needs done first to a get a feel. Basically branches not touching. Then trim what should be done. Then if you don’t like it, remove it.

That tree IS your property value.

Cut it down? Wtf, are you insane!?

It’s fucking perfect as is. Don’t touch it. Move if you must, and let someone else appreciate this beautiful old specimen.

Every time a mom plants a live xmas tree by the house an arborist gets his his spurs.
