it seems there’s a strange substance growing in the roots of my white sage. it feels exactly like cotton and it’s light gray, it’s throughout the roots. i water the plant about 2-3 times a week and it has cactus soil with pumice and drainage. the white sage is about a year old and about 2 feet tall.

    My guess is that’s remnants of a plant plug. Some growers grow the seeds in little pockets (plugs) made of a degradable fiber. It looks like this one is breaking down which is what is supposed to happen.
