New home owner here. Is the greyish bark a cause for concern? It only appears on a couple of our 8 pine trees and only at the very base where the trunk meets the pine straw.

They otherwise seem healthy from down here, but are 60-80 feet tall and within the danger zone.

    I don’t think the color of the bark is too much of a concern. At least I haven’t been informed of any reasons why it would be indicative of a problem. What you SHOULD look out for is any of your trees secreting sap. That indicates a pest problem that should be addressed as soon as possible by a qualified arborist
