PPP Prop help

I was given this plant over a year ago in soil. noticed it wasnt doing well (root rot), so I trimmed the roots and put it in water.

Well, it’s been in water for probably a year & this is all I’ve been able to get with it. please oh please help me! I fear I’ve lost my green thumb 🙁
