Making my first ever reddit post to ask how I might go about getting this little baby started on a moss pole! It’s very young and I’m not sure how many individuals are in this 4” pot. It doesn’t appear to be root bound, but it’s so densely planted that I wonder if it should go in something larger/if I should break it up while it matures a little. Any advice would be appreciated (even if the move is just to let it do its thing for now)!

This is actually one of the few philodendrons you probably don’t want to put on a pole, because micans, like the other Philodendron hederaceum varieties, changes leaf shape and color pretty dramatically as it matures, and it will lose the attractive rich bronze-green coloration and velvet texture that makes micans so iconic. As a result, micans is deliberately kept in it’s juvenile form by being grown trailing or hanging.
Yours looks to be in good shape. No need to split the pot or upsize at this stage; they do very well crowded, and you want a group together so they don’t look bare near the roots as they grow.
For best growth, they love an East or West window with a couple hours of sun and then bright indirect light the rest of the time. They also respond well to slow release fertilizers.
I think it looks pretty cool on a moss pole

Moss pole and micans dont belong in the same sentence
Mines on a pole and it’s happy as can be. Generally leaves grow bigger when they grow up vs down too.
