Forgive me if this is a silly question, as I’m new to plants. I got this haworthia a little over a month ago and by all other metrics, it’s doing well—I’m seeing new growth and it’s sprouted 3 flower stalks in the past week. It’s a pot full of 4 rosettes potted together with a chunky succulent soil mix

However, I’m noticing these little callused spots on some leaves that seem to be new. On photo #2, it’s like a whole line of them going along the white stripes of one leaf. They are dry, callused and raised as opposed to mushy like root rot. It’s also unlikely to be rot, as I’ve only watered it twice in the past ~5 weeks allowing the soil to completely dry out between waterings

Are these spots something I should be concerned about and if so, is there are treatment I can give the plant to salvage it?

Thanks in advance!

I’ve dealt with mealie bugs and spider mites before, the kind of damage they leave isn’t so extensive without a sign of the actual bugs and cleanly spaced like that, I would suspect some kind of mechanical damage, or possibly leaf age 👍

To help you along get a magnifying glass or loupe as it’ll help to see small details and in this case plant pests. The spotting or coloration most likely is normal. Check other variegated Haworthiopsis attenuata as it’ll help you along. Good luck!

What you’re seeing is edema scarring, which is caused by inconsistent watering or overwatering after a long period of drought. I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s not harming the plant!
