Join me for a calm and cozy end-of-April vlog as I slowly refresh our home for spring and settle into a new season.

In this video, I’m sharing a bit of everything from the past couple of weeks — quiet moments at home, time spent knitting and watercolor painting, and some progress (and plans!) in the garden. I also share a look at our beautiful new Japanese joinery bed frame from FlexiSpot and how it’s bringing a peaceful, warm feel to our space.

This vlog is a little more personal, as I also talk about the passing of our beloved dog, Midi, who was such a special part of our family for over 14 years 🤍

If you enjoy slow living, cozy routines, and creative projects, I hope this video feels like a peaceful moment in your day.

Thank you so much for being here.

  1. Hi Amber. Thank you (again) for a great video. I cried when you spoke of Midi. We love our dogs so much, it’s the hardest thing to do is to say goodbye. I’m glad for your experience on her final moments. God bless you and your family. (California)

  2. Glad she is not suffering but I understand the waiting and missing them part. And I surely understand the sunshine making you feel better. I am exactly the same way and I am also enjoying my garden so much this year. I am just finishing my first color work project and am loving it. Thanks for sharing with us

  3. I'm so sorry to hear about Midi. We will miss her input in your home and yarny adventures. Praying you'll have a delight-filled rest of your Spring.

  4. Wonderful video Amber, and well done for telling us about your lovely old dog's passing, without tears. I myself cried right through it, because it brought back memories of the night I had to call out the vet to put my beautiful old Golden Retriever to sleep just last September. xx

  5. I am so sorry for your loss! It is such a heartbreak to lose a pet! But, they will be in our hearts forever, loved forever💔

  6. Just a hint. When balling up your yarn, it’s a good idea to put your hands inside the skein loop and snap it a few times to line up the yarn making it easier to flow off the swift and stay more evenly tensioned. So sad to hear about Midi. My 17 y/o dachshund licked up peanut butter his last journey to the vet. 😊

  7. I’m sorry about Midi. It’s always hard to let a loved one go, but it’s really the kind thing to do. I have been there too many times. The kisses is really a sweet idea.
I wish I had your energy for cleaning; my house sorely needs it 😢

  8. When you shared about Midi, it was just so sweet. We also waited too long with our last old dog, and we’re looking at that time again with our other elderly dog. It is such an adult decision to make and I really enjoyed the “goodbye kisses” memory that you shared. It’s good to find the joy in moments like those.

  9. My heart goes out to you and your family, Amber. It seems that Tilly provided all the fun and patience that Midi needed in her last year of life. What long and beautiful memories you get to carry with you.
I just wanted to share that I can feel your excitement for spring and sun. It is literally radiating through my screen. ; ). I am knitting my first Pressed Flowers Kerchief and am on the decrease side heading to the finish line. It has been an enjoyable and repetitive knit. Black and pink will be stunning!

  10. I'm sorry for the loss of your dog, Amber. It's always so hard to know when it's time to let them go. We had to put our 15yo poodle mix down last year and it was very tearful. Your Tolsta tank is looking great. I'm looking forward to seeing your garden grow! ❤🧶⚘️

  11. 🌈😢 I am so sorry for your loss. Part of being a great pet parent/friend is knowing when… we are never ready. My girl passed on her own at 14 this October. I was gutted. It was so sudden. She laid down on her bed and that was it…

  12. So sorry about Midi she was a sweet girl and had a great life with your family. As I vet tech we morn right along with you. We also give the pups things they can’t have as well.
