Basically accepted it as dead but gave it more light and water and there’s some life. Can I chop it by the green or shall I wait for the alive parts to grow more established?

I’d wait more, soak as it is every few days, let it grow a bit and after take the green parts to prop. At this point I do not recommend to start cutting it.
