I noticed what looks like wild blackberries in my yard. My dog seems interested, could he safely eat a few? I have googled and confirmed but im not positive if these are indeed regular wild blackberries. Any insight would be appreciated.

Ive always heard blackberries don’t have poisonous lookalikes and that they are super common in the wild
Yes safe to eat! As long as its not next to like a busy road or anything
Yep most dogs love to forage these
All aggregate berries in North America are safe (assuming that’s where you are)
Do any of them look eaten? Like birds or insects?
Blackberries. Enjoy!
In the United States, we don’t have dangerous/poisonous Rubus species (made of smaller individual bumps, like raspberries, blackberries, dewberries, etc.) So if it is shaped like one of those and you’re in the US, have at it.
Edit to add: safe to eat, UNLESS it’s in a spot near a busy road, railroad track, or an area that could have been hit with chemicals.
They’re dewberries, my aunt used to make delicious pies and cobblers with them.
Blackberries have very thorny leaves and branches. Those don’t look it.
Good to go
Safe to eat. I’ve eaten loads.
Watch for bears if they’re in your area. They like berries, too…
I have a blackberry bush in my yard. These look like what mine looks like.
Wild blackberries. Safe *AND* addictively delicious. Careful though, because large amounts can cause stomach upset in both you and your furry friends.
Depends how low to the ground they hang, make sure no dogs or foxes were able to pee on them
there are no truly poisonous aggregate fruits that resemble a raspberry or blackberry on a bramble
Safe to eat unless there are bears around
Been eating them for years, gathered a ton of them yesterday and we ate them all! Haven’t died yet, I say go for it. Natures present just for you!! Also, keep an eye out for snakes.
Yum!
