I got these lavender seedlings that I'm growing for almost a month before planting outside (I live in a cold climate). All had the same conditions, semi-shade (the sun shines directly through the window a few hours in the morning) and watered only when the top of the soil was a bit dry.

Any idea what could be wrong with my lavender?

I tried keeping them for the sun to directly shine on them or keeping them near the window but no direct shine, and not watering it too often, but they look the same for a while now. Not sure which way to go now.

That soil looks awfully wet, are you sure it isn’t overwatered ?

Soil looks quite wet in this photo. If that’s how wet it usually it, you’re overwatering. Lavender Hidcote can handle cold fine as long as it’s above freezing, so you might want to plant them outside sooner or later.

They need sun. Lavender plants wants full direct outdoor sun for 6-8 hours every day. They also might be getting too much water; that soil looks quite dense, and they like loose, rocky soil that drains well. I would put them outside as soon as you can, or at least put them in smaller pots with sandier soil.

They don’t like sitting in water – maybe your soil isn’t draining enough and retains moisture?
    Just a hypothesis!!

Lavender seedlings don’t mind cold weather as long as their soil doesn’t freeze. There are several types that grow outside all year around in snow and freezing temperatures for months on end, but they have to be mature plants with good roots for that

They need more sun, they want full sun outdoors. The small plants come up in spring when the sun isn’t very strong and won’t scorch them, then they grow big and flower at the height of summer when the sun is blazing. You’ll never achieve those light levels indoors
