This fella looks worse than normal due to my cat knocking it off the window. I just got new soil to give this plant a new home. What’s with it? How do I fix it? I desperately want to be a plant person!

– light: it’s been living in the window or near the window
– watering: about once a month

How do the leaves feel? Firm? Mushy?

    What’s the soil mix?

When watering, is the soil full dry? Snake plants HATE being in wet/damp soil, which is why well draining is needed. You can try shovin your finger in the soil or use a long toothpick to check.

He’s extremely wrinkled and dehydrated, so it’s gotta be over or under watering (root rot).

If you water frequently, check his roots. Repot him, and get rid of any dead roots with clean scissors or shears.

    You should listen to u/_AssbuttOfTheLord_

Maybe double check that the snake plant is in succulent soil (that is fast draining, and well aerated) double check that it’s getting enough light too. How frequently are you watering?

Wrinkly leaves means it needs more water.
Instead of waiting an entire month to water it, just wait until the soil has completely dried out, with a pot that size you probably looking about every 2 weeks at most. The thing is with snake plants is that it will totally survive not being watered for a very long time but it won’t be happy about it. You can use it being wrinkly as your timer to water it but it will be happier if you get to it right before that. Make sure you’re giving it a proper full watering especially since you have recently repotted it, the roots probably need time to make their cozy new home.
