Hey ! I know we’re rolling into spring but I need to test effective irrigation plan for starting a new lawn. Have prepared the soil (grading/composting/topsoil/amendment), I was disappointed in seeing that the impact sprinklers don’t have enough pressure once they go through the Melnor 4 zone timer. A bit of ChatGPT reasoning mentioned my pressure of 60psi at the spigot is being downgraded by the timer and further by the hose length (do have spread out area). I can only afford (money) to do this myself and come AUG/SEP will be very busy with some major life changes (time). Currently, out of Stafford, VA and I believe we’re experiencing abnormal cooler spring than expected. So, any chance I can get my new lawn seeded (I understand the risk) and have a decent irrigation set up is appreciated. Thank you and I always am happy and excited to watch the thriving lawns and learn more from all of you !

Unfortunately low pressure is a sprinkler killer. You have to use less sprinklers at a time which means more timers. You can use low pressure sprinklers but they dont have great range so you need more of them, which defeats the purpose. I found the longest range sprinkler for my system and move it around on a tripod.
I do the same thing but I am using orbit voyager ii heads that I have placed in the ground and hook up the hose with a quick disconnect. You can run about 2 heads with 60 PSI, depending on which tips are in the heads. It has worked well for over 6 years.
