I'm so excited. My Missouri evening primrose bloomed! This plant has 2 buds on it and one bloomed last night. I'm so happy to see it thriving š they were the only flowers in this little garden I put together last year that didn't bloom. They withered up and looked really sad. But this year everything came back great and it bloomed!!

Yes! They are awesome.
I have some evening primrose that didn’t bloom the first year either. I think they form a rosette the first year and bloom the second year.
This will always be one of my favorite flowers.
My grandfather who was a master gardener planted a huge mound of them in his yard where an old tree strump was and he would have all the family and neighbors pull up chairs to watch them open at dusk.
Just planted some last fall, the deer have taken a liking to the flowers, so we put up a barrier until they become more established. Probably will have to use deer repellant spray at some point. gorgeous flowers!

Getting to see mine bloom this year for the first time also! Iām south of you, so this is her 2nd flower. The color is SO interesting. Day-glo. Or evening-glo, I suppose. Perfect for nocturnal pollinating moths!
