Got this guy in and decided to chop off the tip to give to a friend, now I've got this midsection and I decided what the hell, let's try a log prop. How are we looking? Never done one of these before, didn't put on rooting hormone cuz I figured it'll just root on its own, how long do I wait till I water it?
I sprinkled it with sulfur when I cut it and it's been 6 days, the end is corky so I figured it's okay to put in the dirt now. Please advise 😎🌵

I’ve never done a log prop but I typically wait a month before watering, and even then just a very little so the cactus can “feel” it needs to root or so the roots can reach towards it. Looking amazing so far.
Random: Earlier today I saw a post of a San Pedro bent over into another pot and it was actively rooted in two spots. That made me think it should grow much faster then the typical insane rates SP already grow at. What if that was continued with more pots, or if I did a log prop but applied rooting hormone to the whole ground side, or if I made a foot of a San Pedro callous, then put that whole side in the ground. In theory you would have the fastest growing trich in the world. Just thought I’d share😂 good luck with yours and have a great day!
Cut the spines out from one or two ribs. Generous cuts by nothing crazy. Let them heal. Plant those ribs down, it’ll root faster from the cut spots
Wait a month or so and check for roots. No roots no water and with small roots you wanna water lightly. You don’t wann give it a full drink until it’s established
