Grace Agnes Kenyon died just days before her second birthday while playing in her family’s garden
Her mother, Carly, described Grace as a selfless and brave little girl who brought light to everyone she met
The family launched a GoFundMe in Grace’s honor and will hold her funeral on May 15
After a toddler died while playing in a backyard garden, her mom is now paying tribute to her “truly amazing” daughter.
Just days before Grace Agnes Kenyon’s second birthday, the little girl was playing in the garden with her sister at their Winchburgh, Scotland home when she began gagging.
Grace had struggled with swallowing since she was born and relied on a feeding tube.
During the garden episode, she lost consciousness. Her mother, Carly, and her father, Nick, tried to help Grace as she struggled for breath and attempted to resuscitate her.
The toddler died before paramedics could arrive at the family’s home. According to STV News, medics believe she might have had glossopharyngeal neuralgia.
Glossopharyngeal neuralgia is a rare throat condition that causes severe pain in brief attacks, but can include fatal symptoms, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
However, as of Friday, May 1, the outlet noted that Grace’s cause of death had not been determined.
“She was the most selfless wee girl who deserved so much more,” Carly told the outlet.
She added, “We want her story to be shared because she was so, so special. She was truly amazing and absolutely no one like her.”
A loved one named Emma has since launched a GoFundMe in the “beautiful baby” Grace’s honor. Her family is holding a funeral for the baby girl on May 15.
“There will never be enough words to explain how truly special you were,” she wrote. “The light you brought into our lives every single day, you lit up every room you entered and constantly had everyone stop, no matter where you were, just to tell you how beautiful you were. You were the kindest, happiest, most loving and most of all, the strongest and bravest little girl I’ve ever known.”

“I don’t think you will understand just how many people’s lives you affected when you walked in, and now since you’ve left,” Emma added. “You deserved so much more from this cruel world, and we will all, never ever have a day where we don’t talk about you to keep you with us.”
