I saw some garlic mustard sprouting a bit down the slope from my house along my property line. I climbed down to pull it and was greeted with this view of my neighbor's yard. Just a field of garlic mustard getting ready to go to seed.🤦🏼‍♀️ I don't know why I'm even bothering. This was just a few hours after I pulled out vines from their Oriental Bittersweet that's creeping over onto my side. Hard not to feel discouraged with neighbors like this!

Have you tried to talking to them about it?

Time to write them a note and offer to weed

Also, for garlic mustard I’m reading it is best to cut, bag & dispose in trash. If you pull a big patch like that then it can take longer. If it is totally out of their site then you might do the border that way.

This is also what my back yard looks like 🙃 it’s just everywhere and so overwhelming. Good luck

Pesto time! (Should be able to eradicate in two seasons.)

Wait I thought this was all flea bane 😭

*claps hands and pulls pants up too high

Alright, get me two Tylenol, a moxie, a pair of gloves, and a bucket. Also pre-dial 911. There won’t be any garlic mustard here when I’m through but I’ll throw my back out gittin ‘er done

The worst part is that under the garlic mustard you can see ground ivy too.

Ugh. I recognize that scourge anywhere.

Im sorry, that would discourage me. At least they are downhill? Maybe leave a note on their gate.

My condolences. To put things in perspective though, I live in the city and my neighbors use pesticides. In your case you can *see* what’s creeping over 😬

This is my favorite weed. So easy to pull

I may or may not have…possibly..pulled a bunch from my neighbor’s today…allegedly i might have gotten it all. Lol

Garlic mustard is native to the UK and is the larval food plant for orange-tipped butterflies. It’s odd when I see it being disparaged because I can’t grow enough of it, I’d take it off your hands if I could 😂

Auuuuuugh. We have the same neigbor. This is reminding me to go pull again for the year in my yard. It’s time.

I saw this and said ‘looks just like looking into my neighbors yard in the catskills’ and low and behold….

Lol, my neighbors are weekenders too. And new owners. So I don’t fault them, honestly I don’t fault anyone for garlic mustard, it’s soooo hard to keep up with.

What I can’t deal with is all the people around here I see intentionally PLANTING Japanese barberry and honeysuckle 🫣

It sucks but this shit still grows even if you work really hard to remove it. This coming from someone who has spent years trying to eradicate it in my yard and any time I disturb the soil to plant natives i get more garlic mustard. All the natural areas in my town have it and is getting out of control. The people managing the sites work hard but still have been posting on all the social media to pull any that you see to get more help from the community. I don’t think it is fair to get angry at a neighbor if they have some.
