CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Piedmont Master Gardeners’ spring plant sale brought big crowds to Albemarle Square on Saturday, May 2.
The sale offered thousands of different kinds of plants. Shoppers also could buy gardening equipment and lawn care items.
More than one hundred people lined up early in the morning for the sale.
The event is part of the Master Gardeners’ goal of educating and encouraging environmental sustainability.
“You get to really interact with the community,” Piedmont Master Gardeners President Tonya Moon said. “It’s a way to also reach more people at one given time to talk about what we are doing to try to sort of be better stewards of our environment.”
The Master Gardeners’ spring sale is the organization’s main source of funding each year.
