Basically what it says in the title- I'm currently water propagating a monstera cutting and about 4 weeks into the process. Only problem is her lower aerial root started to become black and mushy about a day ago. It was basically crumbled away when I removed it from the stem and smelled a bit, so I'm 90% sure it was rotting. But it left behind a root that otherwise seems healthy, though I'm not sure if it's too early in its development to survive. Really, sincerely hoping I haven't doomed my plant here 😅 Any tips? Other than that the node looks healthy enough and I think there's a new aerial root forming (above the node in the 1st picture).

I’m struggling to see the healthy roots tbh. Both are rotting & if the rot is still visible like it is, it will continue to spread

I honestly would just chop off everything below the next node up. Wouldn’t even chance it!
