Someone decided to make a new home in my lawn. Is there anything you can do to prevent this? Located in MA

I hear good things about a big pot of simmering water with some onions, herbs and cream.

  2. If allowed in your location, live animal trap with a couple baby carrots and 1/4 of an apple. If you catch something can possibly transport outside of town to release it. Depends on local laws.

Get a bunch of dehydrated jalapeños, put them in a gallon pump sprayer and fill with water. Spray the perimeter of your yard once a month and the rabbits will stay away.

That soil looks nice. All I got is red clay

I typically fill it in and throw a paving stone over it. Otherwise they dug it right back up

Cottontail rabbits, the most common type in north eastern USA, don’t actually dig burrows. Probably a ground hog, but could be a mole.

Thy make smoke bombs you put them in lit and cover the hole wiyh rocks and dirt. Usually there is more than one hole so you might find a smoke leak somewhere and have to put another smoke bomb in there a few days later after filling that hole too…

Also in Mass, similar holes in my yard last year. We had a mole.

If you’re closer to the city could be rats, my Somerville yard had so many rat holes..

That definitely looks like a mole or a vole has been busy under there, fr. If the ground feels super squishy when you step on it, they’re probably tunneling for grubs. I’d try the step test to see if they’re active just flatten the mound out and if it’s back the next morning, you know you’ve got a live one. Most people just use traps or those castor oil sprays to move them along, but honestly, if you get rid of the grubs, the food source is gone and they usually just head over to the neighbor’s yard instead lol.

I seen that movie. Ends with the whole golf course getting destroyed.

I let them be, it’s literally their habitat. I only use it like once a week.

Fill it with the hose. Cleans them out quick

Fill it with a hose and wait outside with a shovel

Yeah, you should just go ahead & move. Its their yard now. But seriously, these burrowing creatures are a pain & should be taken seriously. The networks they dig are massive, creates all kinds of settling issues, especially near the house.
    Good luck.

I’m afraid an AC130 is your only option now
