TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Spring came into full bloom Saturday at the Stormont Vail Events Center.
The K-State Shawnee Co. Research and Extension Master Gardeners held its annual plant sale.
Guests shopped for various plants and garden tools throughout Agriculture Hall.
Organizers say it’s good to bring the local gardening community together in a supportive event like this.
“We appreciate the community coming out and supporting,” said Shawnee Co. Extension’s horticulture extension agent Lane Wiens. “The Master Gardeners have been working all winter and spring, getting all these plants produced and ready to go for everyone. These guys, they spend so much time getting everything ready and getting out into the community, promoting research-based information. It’s great to have the community come and support that for us.”
All proceeds from the sale go straight to master gardeners.
