I got this cutting from a friend in January and these are the first new leaves it’s put out so I’m excited but why do they look so different? Is it because it’s a baby one and it’ll eventually darken? The singular vine was hanging at a very awkward angle when I got it and it wasn’t doing anything, so I put it on a moss pole and it’s finally got new leaves after almost 4 months. Are they slow growers? I was a newbie when I got it so it’s not in a nursery pot, but the terracotta pot it’s in does have drainage holes 🙂 first pic is what the original leaves look like and 2nd/3rd are the new leaves

Amount of light determines amount of bright green. It might be getting more light now compared to when it put out the original leaf you posted. Move it back from the window a bit if you can or find somewhere with a little bit less light to bring back the dark green. (Edit I THINK it’s more light = more bright green, but it could be vice versa. Hopefully someone will let me know under this if it’s the other way around)
Once they get going and well adjusted, they’ll grow fairly quickly. I like to let mine go up a short trellis and trail down from that, but they definitely prefer to climb is my understanding
