I had prepped one of my containers for planting this season. I was working on my garden last weekend when I got called away for an emergency. I placed an open bag of soil in the container and ended up leaving it there all week. I went out this morning to garden, lifted the bag, and there were just a ton of these. Mostly alive and burrowing. They were NOT there last week. We didn’t get any rain this week. Nothing is planted here yet.

What are they and do I need to remove them? How would I?

Grubs, baby beetles, they eat roots.

    Snacks for chickens. They’re grubs

Set them in a different location, they deserve to live but maybe not in your containers
