The folks over at r/Bromeliad will give you the answer. I just let mine do their thing then cut them at the base of the stem when they are dead, I’m no expert though.

Cut it off when it’s brown and dead, if you want. That rosette is finished; they only flower once. New pups will form below eventually overtaking the original rosette.
