Raised beds are a great investment for the garden especially if your soil is poor.

In this video I show you how to get the very best from them including what to construct them from, what to fill them with and what to plant in them.

In our new garden, I’m using them to grow seed potatoes and salad crops. I show you just how much you can plant even in a limited space.

Then watch the space come together as the paths between the beds are upgraded with membrane and a woodchip finish, creating a tidy, low-maintenance garden that looks as good as it performs.

Whether you’re new to gardening or looking to improve your results, my guide will help you make the most of your raised beds all year round.

  1. Really good points he makes about the soils…additional compost/manure. The cheapest garden soil addition at my local garden center is Manure…a lot more affordable than potting mixes. Used judiciously, a great amendment. I’ve also begun using pet bed shavings and bags of hay I get from my farm store to add mulch which conserves water ….is a must here by the hot summer temps we’ve been getting.
