I bought this as a little plant at Publix because it was cheaper than buying a packet of basil. I pruned aggressively (it felt like I was cutting off $3 worth every time) but I’m pleased with the outcome and have given gallon bags away to my neighbors!

Why? You still get TONS and TONS of basil, and the bees LOVE it sooooo much. Feed the bees!!

Yep, basil loves being pruned! You can go pretty far down the stem too.
Last year I stopped saving the basil and just trimmed I had so much. And it just kept going.
What a delicious bush you have. 🍻
All i can think when i see this is all the deliciously seasoned pasta you must have
It’s almost pesto season, guys!!!
Mine always die. How often do you water/fertilize?
Love it! I’m looking forward to my little ones growing big too
The possums do it for me. Every night, right back to the same couple of leaves 😂
I could smell this picture 😂
Pesto freezes well. Enjoy the harvest!
I just make salsa verde whenever my herbs are getting the better of me. Salsa verde on everything!!
