I'm so worried that my cucumbers didn't pollinate? Most of the female flowers are starting to die off. I did the hand pollination this evening trying to savage what I could but I'm so scared it's too late and everything is just going to die please be honest with me but I just need to know.

I wouldn’t stress about it. There will be more flowers.

    Be patient.

Here’s how cucumbers have grow in my garden for years.

    1. They seem to struggle to get started.

    2. They grow a lot and make a bunch of flowers, most of which just drop the ground.

    3. Half the leaves die.

    4. My neighbors block me because I am asking them once again to take a 5 gallon bucket of cucumbers.

The morale of the story is that cucumbers are drama queens that will make about 10,000 more cucumbers before the end of the season.

This is like maybe 2 weeks worth from 4 plants last year. EVERY FUCKING WEEK

LOL. Your cucumbers are fine. It’s totally normal to have slow pollination in early spring. You can keep hand pollinating, but soon, the pollinators will take over that job and you will have loads of cucumbers. Gardening requires patience. You are doing great, your cukes look very happy!

    they look okay!

also you can hand pollinate with a soft paint brush! literally just swirl in a flower and transfer it to the other flowers

as others have said, it’s fine. A shame but give it time. last year My 3 cucumber plants only put out male flowers for months. Wasn’t till like August (near the end of the growing season for me) I got actual cucumbers, more than I could eat

there’s a cucumber in both pics so pollination happened.

Last year I bought a variety I thought was self pollinating to grow in my greenhouse but turns out it wasn’t and then had to hand pollinate everything after losing loads of fruit, but as others have said more flowers will come don’t worry, they just keep growing and growing!

I’m from the UK so only just planted my seeds, super jealous! 😋😋
